MN350 unites Minnesotans as part of a global movement to end the pollution damaging our climate, speed the transition to clean energy, and create a just and healthy future for all.

Our Pipeline Resistance Team seeks to help reverse the climate crisis and bring about a more just world through mass movement work to stop fossil fuel infrastructure, especially the tar sands pipelines that cross our state. We engage in education, advocacy, event planning, nonviolent direct action, mutual aid, coalition building, and other creative tactics to shut off the supply of fossil fuels, accelerating the transition to more equitable and lower carbon solutions that let people live a good life without oil or gas. We strive to foster a healthy, just, and growing movement, where allied individuals and groups are supported, with a shared understanding that we are all treaty people.

We are seeking interns to take on key roles, including:

• Base Building - writing and supporting our regular Pledge of Resistance emails, producing new written or visual materials and keeping existing ones up to date, communicating to a mass audience via social and traditional media, designing and giving presentations, onboarding new organizers to our team, etc.

• Line 5 Solidarity - engaging with Indigenous and Wisconsin-based leaders of the opposition to Enbridge's proposed Line 5 reroute around the Bad River reservation, connecting MN350's base to opportunities for action, educating Minnesotans on Line 5 / tar sands issues, supporting or planning events, traveling to northern Wisconsin to build relationships and support in person.

• Policy Research - in coordination with allies, designing and refining policy proposals to expedite the shutdown of Enbridge's mainline system and make future pipelines in Minnesota harder to approve.

• Mutual Aid - following the lead of working group leadership, sort and receive donations, keep online systems up to date, and help respond to direct requests for materials, food, and labor from Indigenous Water Protectors and their communities affected by extractive industries and the violation of treaty rights.

Internship details:

• Hours: 5-40 / week

• Timeline: Flexible, applications accepted on a rolling basis (many interns choose traditional fall, spring, or summer terms based on their school schedule)

• This internship is unpaid.

• This internship is primarily remote, with potential in-person experiences as health and scope of work allows.
